Frequently asked questions

Getting started

I want to trade with an algo but do not have a strategy. Can you help?

Yes, that is our strategy development service. Bring an idea, even a rough one, and we develop a strategy with you, testing versions on historical data until you are happy with it. Automating it afterwards is a separate service, if you want it.

Why trade with an algo at all?

An algo follows your rules exactly, on time, every day, without hesitation or second thoughts, and its rules can be tested on past data first. It does not make a strategy better, and it does not remove the risk of loss. The why algo trading page has more.

Do you give me a ready-made strategy?

No. You bring a strategy or an idea, and you choose the final rules. We do not sell strategies, give tips or recommend trades.

How do I start?

Message us on WhatsApp with a few lines about your strategy or idea. Then share the details in a document, or walk us through them on a short Google Meet.

My rules are not written down anywhere. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Explain them on a call and we write them down for you. You then read and confirm the written version before anything is built. The strategy brief page lists what to think about.

Is there a sign-up form?

No. Every client is set up by us, after we have discussed the strategy.

Your strategy

What kinds of strategies can you automate?

Anything that can be written down as clear rules: time-based entries and exits, level breakouts, straddles and strangles, hedged positions, indicator rules, re-entries and trailing stop-losses.

Will you change my strategy?

Never on our own. We build the rules you confirmed in writing. If we spot a gap or a risk, we ask you.

Is my strategy kept private?

Yes. We can sign an NDA before you share it, it runs on a server of its own, and it is never shared, reused or traded by us.

Can I change the rules later?

Yes. Settings that you can adjust yourself are agreed while we write your rules down. Bigger changes to the logic are quoted separately.

Backtesting and paper trading

Why backtest first?

It shows how your rules would have behaved over past markets, bad days included, before any money is at risk. You see the full report.

Can I get only a backtest, without automation?

Yes. Tell us that is what you want and we will discuss it.

Are strategy development and automation separate?

Yes. They are two separate services, each with its own quote. You can take either one, or both one after the other.

What is paper trading?

The algo runs on live market prices but sends simulated orders, so you can watch it trade your rules with no money at risk before it goes live.

Does a good backtest mean the strategy will make money?

No. A backtest shows the past behaviour of a set of rules; it is not a promise of future results.

Brokers and hosting

Which brokers do you support?

We already work with Fyers, Angel One and Nirmal Bang. Zerodha, Upstox and other brokers with a trading API are confirmed while we scope your strategy.

Does my money go through you?

No. Your money and holdings stay in your broker account. The algo only places orders through your broker’s API.

Do I need to keep my computer on?

No. Your algo runs on its own cloud server, set up for you.

What is a static IP, and why do I need one?

Brokers only accept API orders from an IP address you have registered with them. Your server has a fixed IP for this, and we tell you how to register it.

Costs and timelines

How much does it cost?

It depends on how complex the strategy is, so we quote only once we understand it. You get a written quote with a tentative timeline before anything is built.

How long does it take?

It depends on the strategy or idea. Your quote includes a tentative timeline.

Are there running costs?

Hosting and maintenance are part of your quote. Some brokers also charge for API access or market data; those charges are paid to your broker.

Safety and control

Can I stop it whenever I want?

Yes. You can stop the algo or exit every open position at any time, from your desktop or your phone.

What happens if something goes wrong during market hours?

You can exit everything at once, and we are told about errors as they happen. Risk limits such as a daily loss limit are part of your rules.

Do you guarantee returns?

No. Nobody can. Trading in derivatives involves risk of loss, and we do not give investment advice.

Have a strategy, or an idea?

Tell us about it on WhatsApp. A few lines are enough to start.
